Alliance for Safety and Justice to Florida House: Thank you for supporting crime survivors HB 7125, which establishes new safety priorities for Florida, passes the House's Appropriations Committee TALLAHASSEE, Fla.

– The Alliance for Safety and Justice (ASJ) and crime victims issued a statement following the passage of HB 7125out of the Florida House's Appropriations Committee.

: “We applaud the Florida House Appropriations Committee for passing smart policies that advance safety and justice, and support crime survivors' access to victim compensation. Effective public safety policies that focus on prevention, workforce development and recovery services for survivors, like those in HB 7125, are a priority to make us all safer. We support House leadership, Judiciary Chair Renner, and Appropriations Chair Cummings in their continued advancement of important safety reforms.”

This Session, hundreds of diverse crime survivors from across the Sunshine State traveled to Florida's Capitol to advocate for policy changes which stop cycles of crime and make communities safer including improving probation, reducing barriers to work and removing barriers to trauma and other services for victims. HB 7125, includes many of these policy changes.
